This low sugar, antioxidant rich mocktail with hibiscus, rose and orange is perfect for any season and only take minutes to assemble. It can also be made as a batch mocktail, making it ideal for parties and gatherings.
Hydrating, rich in flavor and perfectly balanced, this recipe is deliciously decadent and sophisticated. I highly recommend the rose petal rim to enhance the aesthetics of this drink. It would be perfect as a baby shower mocktail too!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
It’s so easy: there’s no shaker required for this recipe. Once the hibiscus tea is chilled, you can just pour, stir and serve.
It’s Insta-worthy: I mean, would you just LOOK at how gorgeous that color is? This is one of the recipes I suggest when someone asks me for a bridal or baby shower mocktail. I’ve also included some handy hints below if you’d like to adapt this into a batch mocktail for guests.
Low sugar: this recipe is sweetener with monk fruit drops, which are sugar-free and zero net carbs. Of course, if you’d prefer, you can choose your own sweetener. Stevia, honey and maple syrup would all work beautifully.
Antioxidant rich: did you know hibiscus tea is rich in antioxidants and has a bunch of other health benefits? For this recipe, I recommend doubling the strength of your tea, not just for the enhanced flavor but the health benefits too.
Ingredients
Chilled hibiscus tea: this recipe can be made using hibiscus tea bags or loose-leaf tea. Just follow the instructions on the packet, but be sure to double the amount of tea they recommend. Once brewed, place in the fridge to chill. I recommend doing this step well in advance (even the day before) to give the tea time to brew and chill.
Sweetener of choice: I used monk fruit sweetener for this because it’s my preferred sweetener, but you can replace this with your sweetener of choice.
Orange juice: if you can, freshly squeezed is best, but definitely not a necessity! Go for bottled if that is easier and more cost effective.
Rose water: rose water is the perfect addition to this mocktail and just happened to pair perfectly with hibiscus. You can find this online or in many supermarkets. Health food shops often carry it too.
Sparkling water or non-alcoholic rosé: my preference for this recipe is non-alcoholic rosé, and you can find my alcohol-free rosé reviews here. I think it gives the mocktail a more adult feel. Having said that, sparkling water also tastes delicious and is obviously more cost effective, so choose the one that works best for you.
Edible rose petals (optional): I love garnishing the rim with edible rose petals, it really makes the aesthetics of the drinks pop and let’s face it – we taste with our eyes first!
Equipment
Recommended glassware: I love using a wine glass with a gold rim for this recipe because I think pink and gold work beautifully together. A glass tumbler with a gold rim would also be divine!
Measuring instruments: you’ll need something to measure out the quantities of each ingredient. I use a jigger, which is basically a measuring cup for drinks, but if you don’t have one, some measuring spoons or cups work just as well.
Something to stir: there is no shaker required for your hibiscus mocktail, but you will need a spoon with a long handle to stir!
How to make a hibiscus mocktail
Prepare your hibiscus tea according to packet instructions. Be sure to use double the amount of tea that is recommended on the packet. While the tea is still warm, add your sweetener of choice and stir. Set aside to chill.
To create the optional rim: gently brush some honey or maple syrup onto the side of your glass where you would like the edible rose petals to stick. Place your petals on a shall plate or dish and gently roll the sticky rim into the petals, using slight pressure to ensure they stick. Shake off the excess.
Fill a wine glass with ice and add the hibiscus tea and orange juice.
Add the rose water, then top with sparkling water or alcohol-free rosé.
Stir gently and serve.
Expert tips and tricks
Prepare your hibiscus tea way in advance – this can even be done the day before if you prefer. This will give the tea ample chilling time before you need to assemble the mocktail.
To make it a batch mocktail: you can use the calculator in the recipe card below to increase the quantities of each ingredient and work out how much you need. Feel free to comment below if you need help with this! Instead of using a glass, assemble the ingredients in a pitcher without ice. I prefer to put ice in the glasses rather than the pitcher, so the drink isn’t watered down.
When you’re ready to serve, fill the glasses with ice and serve your guests.

I purchased mine online – Amazon has plenty of varieties. Some grocery stores and health food shops also stock it.
Is rose water readily available?
It can be slightly trickier to find, but again, Amazon is generally my saviour here! There are a few varieties available. There are also recipes online to make your own if you are feeling particularly ambitious.
