This easy non -alcoholic Espresso Martini Mocktail can be made two ways - classic or creamy - both with simple ingredients. With all the class and character of the original, this virgin espresso martini recipe is sure to be a show-stopper at your next party.

This Mocktail Espresso Martini captures all the class and comfort you love about the classic cocktail without the alcohol. You can also make this non alcoholic espresso martini two ways: traditional and dark, or as a decadent, creamy, dessert version!
Simple to make with just a few ingredients and minimal equipment, this Espresso Mocktini is great for a night on the couch with your favorite show (you can even use decaf), or make a big batch to serve at your next fancy gathering or holiday party.
Why You’ll Love
- Can be made as a ‘traditional’ espresso martini (uses non-alcoholic spirits), or more of a creamy, dessert style version (my fave).
- Simple to make for one, or as a batch mocktail for parties.
- You can also use decaf if you’re cutting back on caffeine or enjoying it later in the night.
Equipment Needed
- Glassware
- Something to measure
- A shaker
- A blender (if making a batch recipe)

Ingredients for Espresso Martini Mocktail
The Classic Espresso Martini uses non-alcohol spirits, while the creamy version calls for common household ingredients.
Classic Style
Lyre's Coffee Originale - Lyre’s is an award-winning coffee liquor alternative
Non-alcoholic rum - I like to use either Lyre’s Dark Cane Spirit or Ritual
Chilled espresso
Premium vanilla syrup - not vanilla extract or essence
Creamy Version
Espresso - brewed and chilled
Want to save this?
Cream - use a heavy cream for the best texture. You can sub half and half, but the end result will be less creamy
Maple syrup - You can also use agave nectar for a more neutral flavored sweetener
Salt - a pinch of salt really brings out the full flavors
Cocoa powder
Vanilla essence - sub a ¼ teaspoon of vanilla bean paste if avoiding all alcohol. See notes below in Tips and Tricks.
Garnish Options
Coffee beans are the classic choice, but you can also top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa or chocolate shavings. See more suggestions below.
How to Make a Virgin Espresso Martini
- Add all ingredients to your shaker (or blender if making the batch version)
- Add a few ice cubes and shake well.

- Pour into your glass.
- Garnish if you wish and serve immediately!

Tips & Tricks
- Dust with chocolate or add whipped cream for a decadent finish
- Add a salt or cocoa rim to the edge of the glass.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup along the inside of the glass and allow it to drip down for a second before pouring in the espresso mocktini!
- Add a tablespoon of caramel sauce for a salted caramel espresso martini mocktail or add a dash of peppermint extract before shaking for an extra holiday flair.
- In the USA, imitation vanilla extract contains minimal amounts of alcohol (0-2%), while “pure vanilla extract” must meet a minimum of 35% alcohol (70 proof).
- Sub ¼ teaspoon vanilla bean paste for extract if avoiding alcohol in all forms, and I recommend shaking/blending for an additional 20 seconds or so to break up the paste - it's more dense than essence.
