Coconut water: coconut water is one of my favorite ingredients for homemade electrolyte drinks because it naturally contains minerals that support hydration. If preferred, you can substitute filtered water, but coconut water gives the best flavor and electrolyte support.

Lemon: fresh lemon helps brighten the flavor of the drink while adding a fresh citrus finish.

Salt: just a small pinch of salt helps support hydration by providing sodium and trace minerals. I recommend using a high-quality sea salt or Celtic sea salt if possible.

AgeMate: AgeMate blends beautifully into drinks like this and has become an easy addition to my daily routine.

Expert Tips and Tricks

  • Adjust sweetness to taste: depending on your coconut water and blueberries, you may prefer a slightly sweeter drink. Feel free to add a drizzle of honey if desired.
  • Chill your coconut water prior to blending: this drink is best served ice cold, so be sure to pop your coconut water in the fridge at least an hour prior to serving for best results.
  • Leave unstrained for extra fibre: I personally like leaving this one unstrained, but you can strain it through a fine mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother texture.
  • Make it your way: if you don’t have lemon, a squeeze of lime, orange or even grapefruit will work beautifully.
