Ingredients

Non-alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc - this can be replaced with an NA Pinot Grigio or Riesling. Check out my Top Picks for Non Alcohol White Wines for options. If you're not a fan of alcohol-free white wine, try sparkling grape or apple juice.

Elderflower cordial or syrup - a floral tea such as chamomile, rose, or hibiscus will also work.

Pineapple juice - can also use orange or grapefruit juice.

Sliced citrus fruits of your choice.

Sliced strawberries - or raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries.

Garnish - Edible flowers like chamomile, pansies, or hibiscus are great additions for both taste and visual appeal. Avoid heavier perfumey flowers like lavender and rose petals that can overwhelm the flavor.

Important Note: Always be sure to use untreated edible flowers that haven’t been sprayed with any chemical nasties! I usually purchase mine from a trusted local grocery store or grow them myself. You can ask your local shop if their flowers are food safe or look for a “food safe” label.

How to Make Non-Alcoholic Sangria

  1. Add the citrus slices to a pitcher and muddle gently.
  2. Fill the pitcher with ice and add the elderflower and pineapple juice.

  2. Stir gently, then taste. Adjust by adding more elderflower, juice, or some sweetener of your choice if necessary.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use elderflower tea and a low sugar sparkling wine and this will be surprisingly low in sugar
  • To make this in advance, just follow up to the end of Step 2 and place the pitcher in the fridge. Just before you’re ready to serve, add the strawberries and edible flowers.
  • Make a serving station that will WOW you guests with chopped fruit, edible flowers, and pretty wine glasses.
  • Again, always be sure to use edible flowers marked as safe for eating and free from chemicals and sprays.
