Sweet meets heat in this fresh and flavorful fig mocktail! With its refreshing balance of ginger, apple, and cinnamon, itโs the perfect non-alcoholic drink you can easily make in just a couple of minutes without any fancy equipment.

Figs are such an underrated treat! Sweet and a little earthy, theyโre the perfect fruit to balance the zestiness of fresh ginger and cinnamon in this flavorful fall Fig Mocktail. Truly one of the more memorable mocktails youโll ever sip.
You donโt need any special equipment or non-alcoholic spirits for the recipe either. Just a few simple ingredients, a shaker, and a glass. But one note: the window for in-season, fresh figs can be pretty short, so enjoy this one soon!
Why Youโll Love This Drink
- It's made made without non-alc spirits. The fresh ginger provides the โheatโ.
- Prefer to skip the bubbles? This non carbonated mocktail is perfect for those who prefer still beverages or no bubbles.
- The combined flavors of fig, apple, cinnamon and fresh ginger are just perfect for autumn!

Equipment Needed
- Shaker - if you don't have one at home, you can use mason jar or drink bottle with a lid.
- Something to measure - jigger or measuring spoons.
- Coupe glass - or another low volume glass.
- Muddler - or something else to mash. I find the handle end of a wooden spoon works well.
Ingredients
Fresh figs - see the section below on finding figs near you
Fresh lemon juice
Apple cider - soft cider or a cloudy apple juice will work
Freshly grated ginger
Cinnamon syrup - see suggestions below for replacing with ground cinnamon powder
Fig jam - optional for extra flavor and mouthfeel
How to Make a Fig Mocktail
- Add a quartered fig to your shaker with the cinnamon syrup.
- Add the fig jam (if using) and lemon juice.

- Muddle the fig until 'mashed' - around 15-20 presses with the muddler should do it!
- Add the apple cider and ginger along with some ice. Replace the lid and shake well.
Want to save this?

- Strain into your coupe glass.
- Garnish with a slice of fresh fig (optional).

Recipe Notes and Tips
- The fig needs to be ripe to get its fullest flavor
- Use a cloudy style of apple juice if you canโt get soft cider
- Fresh lemon juice is best
- Ginger is much easier to grate when frozen
- Use a store-bought cinnamon syrup for ease
- You can also use a pinch of ground cinnamon in place of the cinnamon syrup, but add a little maple syrup or agave nectar to mimic its sweetness
Where to Find Fresh Figs
The availability of fresh figs can be pretty short, with some larger chain stores only carrying them for about a month or two. Hereโs a few tips for finding fresh figs near you.
The first place to check is the produce section of your usual market. Call or speak to the produce manager and ask if they carry fresh figs and when they are in season in your area. Specialty stores like Sproutโs, Trader Joeโs, and Whole Foods are also more likely to carry them.
You can also ask at your local farmerโs market or local gardening community Facebook page about where to find fresh figs. Or check to see if there is an Asian or Latin food market near you as they often carry rarer produce not found in chain stores.
