Ingredients

  • 1 ripe fresh fig (plus extra for optional garnish)
  • ½ tablespoon fig jam (optional but does add a little extra flavor and mouthfeel)
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • ½ tablespoon grated ginger
  • ½ oz cinnamon syrup (can sub with a pinch of cinnamon powder, see Note 1)

Instructions

  • Slice the fig in quarters then add it to your shaker along with the cinnamon syrup, fig jam and lemon juice.
  • Muddle until the fig is ‘mashed’. Around 15-20 presses should be adequate.
  • Add the ginger and apple cider, along with some ice. Replace the lid and shake well.
  • Strain into your glass and garnish with a piece of fig (optional).

Notes

Note 1 (cinnamon): you can use a pinch of cinnamon powder instead of the cinnamon syrup, but add a squeeze (about ½ oz) of maple syrup if you do this to make up the sweetness from the cinnamon syrup.
