I must admit…there’s something special about pomegranate and citrus during the festive season. The tartness of pomegranate paired with zingy orange and lemon creates the perfect balance of sweet, tangy and refreshing. And with the addition of elderberry syrup made with all organic ingredients, you’ve got a mocktail that not only looks beautiful, but also offers a nourishing boost of goodness.

Pomegranate juice: if you can source an organic juice this is ideal. Not only is it better for you, but it also keeps its deep red color, making it perfect for a festive mocktails. Hint: you can use cranberry juice in place of pomegranate if you wish.

Orange juice: fresh or bottled works just fine.

Lemon juice: I always prefer fresh citrus in mocktails and I am yet to find a bottled lemon juice I really love. If you have one you love – go for it!

Katy Elderberry Syrup: the star of the show really is the elderberry, made with all organic ingredients. It tastes divine and is designed to support immune health thanks to its antioxidant content.

Ginger beer: this is an optional ingredient and pairs perfectly with the pomegranate and elderberry for a sparkling mocktail. You can use leftovers for my easy ginger beer mocktails.

Equipment

This recipe is so simple, it doesn’t require a lot of tools at all. I recommend:

A shaker: if you don’t have a mocktail shaker, just use anything with a tight lid. A mason jar or drink bottle both work a treat!

Glassware: I recommend something with gold if you’re making this for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but really any medium-sized tumbler will work. This would also look just stunning in a wine glass!

Something to measure: a jigger is perfect for this, but if you don’t have one, just use regular measuring spoons or cups.

I hope you enjoy this nourishing festive mocktail as much as I do! Cheers!
