Two glasses of margarita mocktail with ice and lime slices sit on a wooden board. Salt rims the glass edges, and lime wedges are scattered around, creating a refreshing scene. A small bowl of salt is nearby, ready for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed or bottled
  • 1 oz grapefruit juice (optional, see Note 1)
  • 1 oz orange juice freshly squeezed or bottled
  • 4 oz lime sparkling water (see Note 2)
  • .5 oz agave (see Note 3 for alternatives)
  • 1 oz alcohol free tequila optional - tastes great without!
  • Fresh lime to garnish

Instructions

  • To create the optional salt rim:
  • Place lime juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice (optional), non-alcoholic tequila (optional) and agave into a shaker with 3-4 cubes of ice. Shake for 15-20 seconds then strain into your glass over fresh ice. Garnish with fresh lime and serve.

Notes

Note 1: you can replace the grapefruit juice with orange juice if you prefer.
Note 2: The lime sparkling water can be replaced with Limeaid, or any other lemon or lime sparkling water.
Note 3: I prefer agave because this is what is used in traditional margaritas, but you can replace this with your choice of sweetener if you wish.
