Peppermint White Hot Chocolate

An easy, low sugar Christmas drink to warm you up from the inside out!

Ingredients

Nice

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 50 grams low sugar white chocolate
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract see Note 1
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Naughty

  • 1 cup milk of your choice
  • 50 grams white chocolate
  • 1 candy cane see Note 2
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Nice

  • Place milk, white chocolate and peppermint extract in a small saucepan over medium heat. Do not let the mixture boil.
  • Stir until the white chocolate dissolves completely.
  • Remove from heat and serve.

Naughty

  • Place milk, white chocolate and candy cane in a small saucepan over medium heat. Do not let the mixture boil.
  • Stir until the white chocolate and candy cane dissolves completely.
  • Remove from heat and serve. Add some white cream and crushed candy cane on top if you're feeling particularly naughty!

Notes

Note 1: 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract will give a hint of peppermint. If you like a stronger flavour, double the quantity.
Note 2: Try adding 1/2 candy cane if you prefer a less sweet drink.
